I've got a tune in which I've changed instruments. I write a sample bass line, and then switch to the melody. When I change the clef from bass clef to treble clef, the key signature is not restated with the clef. Shouldn't this happen automatically? How can I force the courtesy key sig?

Actually, no; what Finale does, is standard practice.

Measure Tool.

Double-click the measure.

In the Measure Attributes, in the pop up menu Key Signature, choose Always Show.

NB: Is your Finale document a one-staff document - or a multi-staff document?

When you choose Always Show, the key signature will show in all staves in that measure.
