… Maybe it is a Windows PC problem … Indeed I am using Mac Finale, and indeed the Broken Beam Tool works for me. But - As Far As I Know - the Broken Beam Tool also works for Windows Finale users.
In that case, change the accidental on the 2nd note, to raise the note’s pitch. This step will correct the pitch, and the tie will play back.
