Thanks, guys. Pretty sure it's caused by a bug because it's from an xml source file that got opened in Finale. I import a lot of xml and the resulting files end up with lots of weirdness.

Thanks for looking into this. 1) yes 2) no 3) yes 4) no 5) I create the multimeasure rest at the end, then when adding the double bar it reverts to empty measures again. (pictures included)
