Turn off Show Hidden Notes in the View menu.

I believe if you enter it as D###, you will get the E#. A pain in the butt, but Finale has never figured this one out, as far as I know.

Put the note in a different layer, and assign a different sound in Score Manager.

Mac or Windows? As Francis has noted, it's in space 233. On a Mac, it's even easier. Just hold down the e key and you will get a flyout. Tap the number for the accent you want.

Sometimes corruption creeps in. Try clearing MIDI data. Also, try exporting as XML, and importing back in.
