Try restarting the computer. If that doesn't help, reset the preferences.
How about deleting the page number insert, and start over again?
How can we possibly answer without knowing what operating system and version you are using?
Are you starting and stopping playback with the controls, or with the spacebar?
Start with all of the staves, and hide them where they aren’t needed. I suggest you wait to Hide Empty Staves until all of your notes are in.
I use a Mac, so I’m not sure, but I seem to recall that one of the export options (WAV, perhaps?) needs to play all the way through, when exporting. Are you sure you’re not cutting it off too soon?
