Does this happen in a new document, as well?
Shift-Cmd-4, hold the mouse button down, drag across the area you want to picture, and release the mouse button. It should appear on your desktop. Just drag that into the reply window on this forum.

I don’t know. Have you tried restarting the computer? Is this in all documents? Can you post a screen shot?
Did you make the change in the Program Preferences > New? Did you remember to click Apply, before clicking OK?
