1. Make sure the transposition is set correctly 2. In the View menu (IIRC) go to instrument ranges and set it to Expert, or whatever the highest level, is.

The easiest way that I’ve found is to copy the oboe setup, and paste it into your new staff. Then change Oboe to Trumpet. That eliminates the superscript/subscript arrangement hassle.

Maybe try clearing the MIDI data?

I entered the E7, hit the up arrow, entered the line as shown in the YouTube video, hit the up arrow again, and entered the Eb. I had to move the line down a bit, but that was all.
