Look in Program Preferences > Folders > Music. I think that’s where you might need to make the change. If no help there, you may need to refresh the preferences.

Are your lyrics assigned to different verses? Are they properly assigned to their corresponding layers?

I’m still waiting for a “reverse check return” tool. Let us put in the road map (1-20, 6-19, 21-71, etc.) and have Finale enter the correct repeat signs and settings.
