Apparently the developers at Finale don't realize that the way it worked was the standard. Sheesh! What other surprises are in store? since 25.1 is behaving, I may skip 25.2.

2012 is your latest version, right? Disable your antivirus software. There have been a few reports of that with Finale 2011 and 2012.

Log into your registered user account at MakeMusic.com to find it. Some have had problems upgrading using the Chrome browser. FireFox and Safari behave.
