Update: when writing the script I had forgot that CTRL-SPACE will not enter the correct character into the 'Search for' box manually, only the ALT-0160 from numpad will put in the correct character...
Found a work around using the cursor command to place the cursor over the radio button then used click to select. Set Finale window to full screen to make sure cursor location was always the same.
