I've built a master rhythm part (Guitar, Rhodes, Bass, & Drums). For the intro, I have each instrument on it's own staff, but as I get into the song, I put the bass and Rhodes on the same staff...

I sometimes flip stems to make more room at the top of the staff for chord symbols and articulations without having to add extra space between the staff and the part above or have the chord symbols...
