Years ago I bought Finale Songwriter....  seems like it cost around 39 bucks.  Anyway my old laptop died so I bought a new one and installed Songwriter 2010 again.  Every time I open it I get a popup telling me to authorize it.  Now it is telling me my free trial period is over and I have to buy it (again).  I'm hoping someone who actually works for Finale will see this and respond.  It's very irritating to have a website that says "contact us", and that only means contacting a forum.

I have checked your account and you do still have a valid SongWriter 2010 registration, so you don't have to buy it again. The authorization from the old laptop was left behind since the laptop died before SongWriter could be deauthorized. I have cleared that left-behind authorization, so please go ahead and try to authorize again using your SongWriter 2010 serial number.

 

If you need to find your serial number, you can do so by logging into your MakeMusic account here.

I reopened it, authorized it, but it still won't let me print or save changes... still telling me I have to Authorize.

It definitely sounds like you are running into something odd with authorization. I would like to go ahead and open a support ticket for you so we can take a closer look.
