Ok, this is strange. I have a MIDI keyboard attached to a Focusrite Saffire 40 with Firewire attachment to the Mac.

Yesterday, everything was working. Today, with no changes, Hyperscribe doesn't seem to be recording and I get no metronome when I click on a bar/stave.

If I play, I can hear the notes, but they aren't being recorded. I reset everything, rebooted everything and still nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

That definitely sounds unusual. Have you had a chance to contact Finale support by Submit a Request? We can definitely help you with this there!

Same problem and soooooooooo frustrating. I'm waiting for a response also. You can't even talk to a tech....grrrrrrrrr!

While Finale technical support is exclusively online you can contact our support team to get in touch with an agent who can help you with your issue. You can do so by submitting a support ticket using the Submit a request link at the top of the page. We are here to help!

 

I did also want to make some suggestions. If HyperScribe is not working for you, check Simple or Speedy Entry with MIDI Input.

 

If Simple or Speedy is not working, you can start by troubleshooting your MIDI Input using the steps in this knowledge base article: MIDI Input Troubleshooting

 

If it is working, then please try these steps to make sure that HyperScribe can receive signal in case your MIDI device is not sending info on Bank 1 Channel 1.

 

1. Open a document in Finale.

2. Choose the HyperScribe tool.

3. Choose HyperScribeHyperScribe Options.

4. Choose the All Channels option in the Receive On section; click OK.

5. Try HyperScribe.

Still not working. When I go into hyper scribe options and click on all channels it doesn't seem to stay on all channels

Is this still happening with no solution? I just bought the program and I cannot use it because the all channels button won't stay selected.

You can contact Support directly by using the Submit a request link at the top of the page.

 

In the mean time, it's a good idea to update your MM User Profile so that we know your set up and OS.
