We are trying to download Finale Notepad onto our MacBook Air, but the security system in our computer will not allow it, as it does not regard Finale as a "recognized developer. How can we overcome this problem without compromising our security systems?

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. Click the lock to make changes and change "Allow apps downloaded from" to "Anywhere". Download Notepad, then restore the security setting to what it was.
