I have two levels in a measure with a dottend half note in level 1 and eight notes in level 2. The eigth notes print on top of the dot. When I move the eight notes with Speedy Entry and click, they go right back to being on top of the half note's dot. Please help me figure out how I can get all the notes to show.

Can you show us an image of the measure in question?

The measure is below. Every time I move the eighth note C over to the right so the dotted half note can be seen, the eighth note moves right back to it's original position. I'd so appreciate any ideas to fix it. Thanks so much for your help! Karen

Take a look at the Preferences for Finale.

 

Is “Automatic Music Spacing” toggled on or off?

I toggled "Automatic Music Spacing" off and that fixed my problem. Thanks SO SO much, Peter! :)
