Copy a layer without deleting the second

I need to copy some music from layer 1 without deleting layer 2 at the same time. How do I do it?

Documents Menu > Show Active Layer Only

This not only shows only the active layer but also lets you work with (copy, etc.) the layer shown without interfering with other layers.
