I don't like the number of naturals in this piece starting around measure 11   I was wondering what the recommendation would be.  I switch to CM in measure 14,  would you bump it up to 11 or 12?  

 

Also, I am a bit confused.  Sometimes when changing key signatures, it seems like the music gets transposed or the naturals aren't removed, or something.   Am I missing the proper way to make key sig changes?

Bumping the key signature change to measure 11 seems like a good idea (= fewer note accidentals).

Just make sure that if you are only trying to transfer accidentals from the notes to the key signature you tell the key signature box to hold notes to original pitches.
