page layout question

I have Finale 2015 and I operate on a Windows machine.

Every time I open an existing file, it appears in page view (not a problem), but it has the various lines that one gets when going to page layout and messing with margins, etc. What can I do to remove the lines? I find it annoying to constantly have to switch to scroll view to remove them, and I've tried going to page layout and clicking various things, but that doesn't remove them either. Any suggestions?

Could you give us a screen shot, so we can see which lines you mean?

It sounds as if you are in Page Layout mode when opening your file. Those margin and system margin lines appear whenever you are in Page Layout mode.

If that is not what you are seeing, check the Grid/Guides option in the View menu to see if that is what produces the lines.

That was my thought as well, but seeing what he sees will help us zoom in on the issue.
