Hi - I looked in the knowledgebase but didn't see this specific issue...
Finale 2012c on a Windows 10 64-bit PC, using the standard SmartSound patch library for playback.
I imported a MIDI file (it was exported from a Mac, so the file extension was .MIDI. I had to manually change that to .MID for Finale to recognize it).
Once imported, I changed the baritone sax part from the default "Grand Piano" to "Baritone Sax."
Currently the part is in concert pitch, but I will transpose and export once I'm done editing.
The pitches are mostly in the staff, in the range of the upper notes before the octave key and then a bit above, yet Finale is showing them highlighted as being "out of range."
When I use playback to listen to the part, the Baritone Sax sound is playing, but sounding an octave higher than it should.
Does anyone know of a way to edit the Staff and or instrument in ScoreManager to both show the pitches are in an acceptable range, and playback at the correct octave? Or will that not happen until I transpose to an Eb instrument?
