Hi.

Lately when I try adding an instrument with the score manneger, finale (27) won't let me/ the 'add instrument' button is grey and not responding. I can add a blank stave with the staff tool but it's complicated when I want a piano part for example.

Anyone notice that too?

finale 27.3.0.160

macOS sonoma

Welcome to the forum!

 

Your problem is well known.

The conflict is with Mac OS Sonoma.

In earlier Mac OS versions the problem does not happen.

 

MakeMusic is working on an update that will solve the problem.

God, the bugs with MacOS sonoma are all over the place. Finale keeps on crashing and it takes forever to open

The "bugs" are with Sonoma, not Finale. Finale didn't change Apple changed your OS. Its not just Finale either several of the software the grad students here use will not work on Sonoma.

Just updating (double meaning...) - it's now working after a software update - both by finale and by Sonoma
