What's the best way to convert an audio file to midi? I understand that this is not a Finale issue, but I have a simple piano accompaniment in AIFF file that I'd like to export as MIDI and then import into Finale.
Use a DAW that can convert audio to MIDI. Digital Performer has that function. The more complex the file, the less chance of success—it always works best with single lines.
Actually, Finale has some functionality for converting single lines to notes that you can export as MIDI. Check the manual.
