Have Finale 2014.5 used in Mac.   Would like to take audio of score, transfer to flash drive to play on church sound system as a music minus one accompaniment.  Can this be done?

Yes, it can be done.

You can export the Finale document’s playback as an audio file.

But you’d better make sure that the “church sound system” can read a flash drive.

Also, check what audio file formats the church sound system can read.

Thanks.  I will see what I can find out from church.  Thought mp3 would be best but export did not give me that option.  Mac does not have a CD reader so would use a flash drive.  I've never used Finale for this but will try this week.  Thanks again.

Just a wild guess:

You did not try “Play Finale Through MIDI”, right?

(MIDI/Audio menu > Play Finale Through MIDI)

Most folks who want to hear the (more realistic?) Garritan (or other VST) sounds via an MP3 file will export to WAV format and then use a program like Audacity (with the now free LAME add-in) to convert the WAV to an MP3.

Audacity can also help Normalize sound levels before exporting if the Finale export is too quiet.

You do not need Audacity nor the (always) free LAME framework. You have a Mac. GarageBand, iTunes and QuickTime can do what you need. iTunes and QT are part of the OS. If GB is not already installed, it's free from Apple.

Export your audio to .aif or .wav. Unless you need multitrack editing (GB), use iTunes or QT to convert to mp3 if needed. Use 320 or VBR conversion for the best quality. Google is your friend—only a few thousand articles on the subject if you need help.

Again, thanks to all.  I did not try to play through MIDI.  I haven't written much in the last couple years but plan to get back into it.  Nice to know you're out there to lend a hand.
