The Title says it all. When setting up a large score, Finale handily fits all to the page, but how? It seems not to be using the Zoom tool, so decades of familiarity with appropriate zoom levels are rendered useless.
The Zoom tool determines how much of the page you are looking at. It has nothing to do with how the music fits on the page. I suspect you are referring to the % tool, which allows you to set page, staff, and note sizes.
