I always have kept an earlier version of the Finale  upgrade on my system "just in case", etc. So it is with the new upgrade to v. 26. 25 still resides.

But I've never noticed this before: all documents saved in the new upgrade still launch v.25 if launched by double clicking the document icon.

Is there something needing to be uninstalled somewhere? Or do I have to trash v. 25 completely?

You need to associate F26 with the icon, so that it opens correctly.

Right-click on a document, and Get Info...

Go the the Open With:, and choose Finale 26. Click on the Change All button. All musx files should now open in 26.
