When entering drum set notes via note entry, the previous note entered has its text still appearing, so it obscures the choice of drum for the next note. Please see the attached screenshot. Is there a workaround?

Are you using Simple Entry? Try going to the Simple menu, and in Simple Entry Options, choose Use Simple Entry Cursor.

That should cause the cursor to move ahead, after entering the note.

Yes thanks I corrected the OP to indicate simple. I don't seem to have that exact option, but I do have Use SImple Entry Caret checked.

Glad you found it. I was working from memory, which is always suspect!

Did that help any?

How are you entering the notes?

Using the Mac number keypad with my LH to set the duration, and an MAudio KeyRig49 to enter the pitch with my RH.

My knowledge of Finale percussion (OK, all percussion) is just about zero. If you only have a few different drums to enter, can you set up a percussion map with just those instruments? Then, you wouldn’t need to see what’s coming, because you would know.

If I’m totally off base, I apologize. You might try posting on the other forum, https://www.finaleforum.com, or submit a ticket to Tech Support.
