Can anyone please help? I suddenly got all my measures looking like that. Is it a bug? How do I fix it?

Thank you in advance!

Kyriaki Gkoudina,

In your screen shot it is difficult to see what is going on - since there is some overlapping between the staves.

1) Is it a string quartet?

2) I suspect that the time signature is 4/4?

3) I suspect that the problem is isolated to the second staff? (= Violin 2?)

Your screen shot looks like Page View.

You could switch to Scroll View, increase the vertical staff spacing (doing so will not affect Page View), and take a screen shot of Scroll View.

In that way we can better see what is going on.

It might be easier to diagnose, if not fix, by looking at the part generated by the second staff from the top apart from the other staves. It looks as if the part has somehow been nudged a 32nd or 64th off where it is supposed to be.

Yes it is string quartet, in 4/4 and the problem is only in Violin II. I hope these pics are more helpful.

We really need to see where the odd notation begins and the measure before.

You could also use the "Submit a request" link to send a message to MakeMusic support, and I believe your can include the file when you use that link.

Does this help? The measure on the left is the previous, and then everything breaks down.

Thank you for the advice, I will do it.

If it only happens in single measures, I would choose layer 1 (in the example just above) and retype what you want there. Many of these measures look as if you have sustained notes that somehow were pushed very slightly off the beat .

I wonder what would happen if you could requantize/retranscribe (a copy of ) the piece to the nearest eighth or sixteenth (depending on what the shortest value of your intended composition is).

How can i do that? Those specific measures had mainly whole and half notes - but dynamics and accents changed variously. I would like to try quantizing them tho! Thank you.
