Finale keeps notating dotted quarter and half notes and rests slurred in 6/8 time.

What am I overseeing here? Any help appreciated.

P.s.: this happens when copying measures and when using the 'Rebean' option.

Fortunately the solution is simple.

But it is crazy that a setting for rests also affects notes.

“Just one of those things”

 

MIDI/Audio menu > Quantization Settings… > More Settings…

 

In the dialog box More Quantization Settings, select the option

{Allow Dotted Rests in Compound Meters}

 

While you are there, you might also select

{Allow Dotted Rests in Simple Meters}
