What do I do to get rid of finale automatically filling a bar with rests when I stop working in that bar? I have a new version and this feature isn't where it was for the older version.

To clear implicit measure rests:
To prevent Simple or Speedy entry from filling out the end of a measure with rests, the checkbox is in the Simple or Speedy menu.
(I am guessing you have Finale 26 or 25 since you did not say.)
