I just upgraded to Catalina and my Finale 26.3.1.643 will no longer open my files.  I simply encounter the "Application not Responding" error.  I have deleted Finale from my computer and reinstalled the software twice, but I am simply no longer able to open and work with my Finale files.  Since I had been able to open the same files just yesterday before I upgraded to Catalina, I have to assume that this has to do with Catalina.  Is there anything that I can do?

I rebooted multiple times and reinstalled Finale multiple times with absolutely no results.  I checked other programs, everything works but not Finale.

Try the "Submit a request" link at the top of this page to contact Finale Support directly if nothing else has worked for you.

Submitting a Support Request was my first step after I tried to reinstall and rebooted a couple of times.  Unfortunately, the receipt of my request was accompanied by the following disclaimer, "Please know that due to the overwhelming impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, our response time has been significantly delayed to a week or more in many cases."  That is when I posted my original response to this forum.

I have deleted any Finale program-related files and am downloading a new copy of the installer; this is my last hope for an easy solution.

I’m curious as to what “overwhelming impact” means. Staff unable to report to work because they are sick? Staying home to be with kids? Too many request tickets because we are at home as well?

 

I’m assuming all of these customer service people work from their computers, rather than walking into the room next to theirs and asking if anybody knows anything about a particular problem. Why not give them computer access, so they can work from wherever they are? Or hire more staff? Or will this be the default answer from now on?

I agree.  Anyway, I am at a wits end, I tried everything numerous times; Finale will just not work on my computer.  I guess I can try to reinstall my old system, but Catalina works really well and no other program I use has any problems.
