Unable to move measures from one system to another with arrow keys

I am using Windows 10, Finale 25.3.0.276

In the past few days I have not been able to move measures from one system to another, in all of the pieces I am working on. I have tried using "Fit Measures" as well as selecting the measure and using the up and down arrows, and none of these functions work for me any more. When I try to lock systems, or remove system locks, nothing happens (the locks do not appear at the end of the systems). I checked under view / show / page layout icons, and it is selected, so I should see the locks when I lock systems. Any ideas?

Moving measures has always worked for me, but suddenly is does not work. I have been using Finale for about two years, so it is still a little new to me.

Preferences - Edit

In the pop up menu Reflow Measures, what menu item is chosen?

We’ll assume you’ve restarted the computer. You might try recreating the Preference file.

Yes, I have restarted the computer every day, with the same unfortunate result.

In Edit / Preferences / Edit / , the Reflow Measures drop down window is set to "Across Systems (Remove System Locks)." In the checkboxes below, all five are checked, including "Reflow systems across pages."

Your problem is about reflowing measures - right?

The five checkboxes should not affect your problem.

By The Way:

Be careful with the “Automatic” options; you are allowing Finale to do things without asking for your permission.

Resetting the Preference file worked--thank you! I am now able to move the measures between staves again. Thanks also for the warning about the "automatic" options. Thanks for the help!!
