I've always used my own Default file, named "Finale Default File", but v27 can't seem to find it. I've entered that name in the Preference setting, put the file in Finale's preferred location, pointed to that location in the "Folders" preference... no joy. Suggestions?

Thanks

Given the changes in F 27, you might be better off recreating your default file to take advantage of the new capabilities or protect yourself from unanticipated changes.

Thanks for the replies...

I have done that. Finale won't recognize my file as the Default...

Are you putting it in the right place? If I recall correctly, there are two folders with the defaults.

It shouldn’t matter, right because under Preferences>Folders you can tell it which folder look in, but I tried it both in the location I prefer and in the default Finale location but it doesn’t recognize it either place.

SOLVED. The name of the Default File in Preferences has to have the .musx extension.
