It works for me. At first, you mentioned a quarter/eighth, but later you said a quarter/sixteenth. Was that a typo, or were you actually trying for a quarter/sixteenth?

You have to do it backwards. Add an additional staff through the piece, and hide it where you don’t want it to show.

Peter and Adrian, Thanks for that. I've never used this function, but I can certainly see its value. Does this create the linked parts, where a change in one is reflected in the other?

And that's not nearly as time consuming as it looks. After you've entered it once, copy and Paste Multiple will fill out the score in no time!

If I understand you, try selecting and delting the existing rests, and recombine the measures and create a new one. If I misunderstand, please give more details, or a screenshot.

I suspect you’re talking about a word extension. It should stop at the next rest. If you need to stop it sooner, I would use a hidden grace rest. Mouse in an eighth note. Opt-G to tun it into a gra...
