And, of course, you have to ask yourself if the new OS brings enough to the table to outweigh the Finale issue.

Have you restarted the computer? Refreshed the Preferences? Might the little green light mean numberpad is on?

David T, I did use Nightingale back in the day. Interesting, but either due to its own limitations, or my incompetency, I eventually went the NotePad/PrintMusic/Finale way.

Yes. Copy the notes into the measure(s) and then apply the staff style.

Slightly out of this thread, but Mike H, I just DLed Dorico. Going through their registration was only slightly less onerous than applying for a full-access pass to the Pentagon...

Ernie, Dorico states that (I paraphrase) ”they don’t use plugins, most functions that required plugins in Finale are handled natively in Dorico.”

For my needs, MuseScore does it fine. I've been playing with it for the last few months, but I guess it's time to stop playing, and learn for real.
