I’ve run into the same thing, and it’s a pain. My workaround is to use returns to fit the text back onto the page.
Try restarting the computer, rather than just Finale.

Mike H, a question: is there a difference between restarting, and shutting down and rebooting? Does the “full off” let more stuff happen, computerwise?
