I have two issues:

1) My "control z" does not delete my last action on Finale but it works on my other programs: word, power point, excel, etc.

2) when I edit a measure, such as "clear items" it doesn't do it immediately when click "clear items", but I can scroll back to last measure and then it will clear the measure like it updated.

My assistant has the same Finale version (the newest) on her desk top computer and doesn't have either of these issues on her Finale program. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!

You are using Windows Finale - right? What version of Finale?

What version of Windows?

1) Just as a test (not as a solution):

What happens if you - instead of hitting Ctrl-Z - use the Undo command in the Edit menu?

2) Just to understand the issue correctly:

a. You are using

Edit menu > Clear Selected Items…

- right?

b. I wonder whether you have Automatic Update Layout selected (in the Preferences)?

Is 27.2 a version? It’s new.
Windows Finale. Not sure what version of Windows.
Undo is not highlighted, therefore not an option, can’t click it.

If you can not Undo via the Edit menu, then Ctrl-Z, too, will not work.

I can not explain why you can not Undo your last action.

What was your last action?

You probably do need to find out which version of Windows you have. Does CTRL-A, CTRL-C, CTRL-V, CTRL-W, CTRL-S work? Have you rebooted your computer? I would almost guess this is a Windows issue and not Finale.

Version 27.2

Windows 10

I have tried rebooting and still nothing. The CTRL Z works on all of my other programs on my computer... word, xcel, ppoint, etc.

27.2 is an updated version for me, so I wonder if something didn't get loaded correctly or if I need to enable a something?

If you think your implementation did not load correctly, version 27.3 in now available as a free update.

Charlie if rebooting did not fix it, two other things to try. Run the Windows troubleshooter. Two make sure your keyboard driver is up to date. Matter of fact, I would update it first.

I don't know why "enable keyboard shortcuts" was unchecked, but my school tech reloaded the program with no result, then she solved the issue.

I'm back in business, thanks for your suggestions!

The problem.

Edit-Preferences – Allow Undo

Plug-Ins – TG Tools – Menu Shortcuts

Turn on keyboard shortcuts
