After installing the latest Windows build (14986), I get this error message when setting up a score. No audio drivers show up in the setup dialog.

I've gotten a similar message recently, and I am using Finale v25.2 on Windows 7.

On restart it has replaced whatever ails it. I think The program finds ASIO instead of Direct Sound. Why Direct Sound is switching out--and why--is something I still need to resolve.

I've had it as well.

It is the same here. Since I had also installed other new software, I tried to unistall all (including Finale) and reistall Finale, but the same result.

I was able to get it working again by opening up the VST settings and re-scanning for the plugin.

Hi everyone!

While Bill's error and Adrian's error about both related to playback, they are indicative of different problems.

Bill's error means that Finale can't see his ARIA Player (or other VST). Please check out this knowledge base article and let us know if it helps!

Adrian's error indicates that Finale's audio engine couldn't load because of a conflict with an audio device/driver. Finale v25.2 has a new feature which will automatically try another driver on the next launch. Adrian, can you play through VST currently?

Thanks Chad, I had already tried that, but it didn't help. I was able to solve by re-running the 25.2 upgrade installer, and canceling when it got to the point where Removing Finale was the only option (out of install or repair).

I had previously deleted finale_x64.rewire. Don't know if that contributed, though it had workd fine after that.

You REALLY need to provide a way to disable ReWire for those (many) of us that never use it. It's infuriating to have to reset and restart Finale when you find that some other app has triggered it.

I can run VST's in Finale, but it has presented this message on more than one occasion. Last night I reinstalled Finale 25.2, and this mssg has come up at least once since then. I'll monitor the situation.
