Hi Bernardo,

When you're playing Finale through VST, try the following:

1. MIDI/Audio > Reassign Playback Sounds > Yes and test playback again.

If there's no change:

2. Choose Window > Score Manager. Change the Device of at least one instruments from Garritan Instruments for Finale to SmartMusic SoftSynth, then test playback again.

If none of the above gives you playback through VST:

3. Choose MIDI/Audio > Device Setup > Audio Setup. Do you hear a test tone when you click "Test Audio Output"? Try testing any available device, one once one give you a test tone, repeat steps 1-2 above.

vst is greyed out.  the test sounds work but no garritan sounds.  Running finale 25 on windows 10

Have you set MIDI/Audio to Play Finale through VST?

(I'm not sure what you mean by "VST is greyed out." Need to know where you see this.)

EDIT: Have you installed the Garritan sounds and Aria player (which would not have been installled if you started with the demo program)?
