I can't figure out how to quick and easy change all whole rests to become placeholders instead?
Background: I've imported an mxl file from sibelius to my finale 2014d (on Mac yosemite). In the process all place holders has been filled with whole rests, and i'm unable to create multimeasure rests for the parts.
I don't know what you mean by placeholders, that's not a Finale term. What has happened to your Sibelius file after the xml import is quite common. Happens to me all the time.
To fix this, in your Finale document, select the entire file and run a plugin from the "Note, rest and Beam editing" category. Look for the plugin, "change to default whole rests". Run in and you should be able to create the multimeaure rests.
