Finale Version: 25.2.0.79   Mac OS 10.12.2 (Sierra) on a Macbook Pro, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 gb ram

I'm looking for the 4 measure repeat sign. With Finale, I go to Selection Tool >select 4 measures of my document, right click (mouse) Multimeasure Rests > Create > Multimeasure Rests - Edit > put a 0 in Select box > click Select > (Shape Selection box opens) click Create > (Shape Designer box opens) place and click cursor over center of small circle, select A for Text, go to Shape Designer menu at top of page and click Select Font > (Font box opens) select Jazz, size 36. This page on Finale's site (https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/FinaleMac/Content/Finale/Jazz_Font.htm) says with Jazz Font, select the letter N while holding Option-shift, and the 4 measure repeat sign should appear.

After all these steps, a little fat "x" appears.  Can you tell me where the 4 measure repeat sign went? I know I can make one with the MF tool, but it should be right where the Multimeasure rests appear.

btw, couldn't there be a shorter way to do this?

Thanks.

Bobby

It was never a Staff Style, but you CAN enter it as an expression on four measures that have had their default whole rests hidden with a Blank staff style, or turned into a four-bar rest and edited so that the glyph is the shape instead of the line.

The 4-bar repeat glyph is in the JazzFont (opt-sh-N on my Mac, I don't know the PC alt key).

I don't see it in the Broadway Copyist font nor the Maestro font, though you can create a Shape using the slash four times at opt-sh-] and a couple of dots to replace the multimeasure rest shape for that 4-bar rest. Once you create it, you put it in your default document and you'll never have to look at it again.
