Opened up a file from Version 25 in to Finale 2012c and now ALL tempos are in a dotted (swing) feel when trying to use hyperscribe.  I have checked all settings with hyperscribe options and playback - and also within the time signature menu - with no luck.  Can anyone help me with this?  The Mac is running OS X 10.6.8.  One last thing . . . I have been using 2012 the past 2 years with NO problems until now.  The only thing I have done different is to open the Ver. 25 file - which began the odd tempo.  One last note:  the tempo in the file that seemed to "corrupt" was 6/8

Any help would be most appreciated.

The hyperscribe settings are 256 EDUs - and the "more settings" option shows the following checked:

20 EDUs

Rests - minimize number of rests

Options

Retain key velocites

retain Note Durations

Soften Sycopations

I'd try changing the settings below and then trying to retranscibe you audio file.

Thanks . . . but no luck.  Believe me I have tried every configuration there is to try at this point.  It truly seems like something has been corrupted.  And something else interesting - when I imported the 2012 file with the issue to the laptop that has Finale v. 25, it sounds correctly with no dotted or swing feel.  Go figure!  I looked at all screen settings to compare and they are identical.

This all started with the import of the version 25 file (from a laptop) into the 2012 Finale running on Mac desktop.  Unfortunately the Mac desktop cannot be upgraded to ver. 25 due to an outdated operating system that can't be upgraded because of hardware configuration.  At this point I have a message in to support about it.

Are you saving the 25 file as .mus or .musx?

I saved it with the default . . . .musx?   I might also mention that all of my files in 2012 now have the hyperscribe challenge - not just the one that was converted from ver. 25.

Problem resolved!!  I went back and RE-entered the same options I had entered before (on the "playback and/or click" screen) . . . and it finally worked.  Wow.   It took doing it more than once for it to take the changes.

Thank you all for your suggestions.  They each helped point towards the correct solution (finally!).

And now I can continue to use BOTH Finale versions (2012 & ver. 25) with what my computer's hardware each requires.
