Very odd! I was working on a piece. (Using Macbook Pro Sierra 10.12.2) and all is fine - until I closed out FINALE - saved Propertly..... came back later and the simple entry palete has no natural tool. It also was a rectangle and now the display looks more square. It was a subtle change but I have re-started twice and still I open FINALE and no NATURAL tool in Simple Entry Palete.

Hello Ron,

Have you been able to reset preferences. To do this in Finale v25 you'll want to go to Finale > Preferences > click Reset Preferences.

To do this in 2014.5 you'll want to

1. Quit Finale.
2. In Finder, choose (from the Finder program toolbar) Go > Go to Folder.
3. Type or copy & paste the following location: "~/library/preferences" (without quotes).
4. In the Preferences folder, find a file named "- Preferences" and drag it into the trash.
5. Empty your Trash.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Relaunch Finale.

Did this work? I have had the same issue, but just want to check something before I start deleting files... Presumably, the preferences file to delete is "PrintMusic 2014.5 Preferences" and deleting that won't cause any other problems? Thanks!

Hi all,

Just to clarify, if you are using Finale 2014.5 or PrintMusic 2014.5 on macOS Sierra (10.12), you may be running into a known issue that can cause palettes to display incorrectly when they are re-shaped. Returning the palettes to their default position's should help.

For more information on this issue, please see this knowledge base article: Finale products and macOS 10.12 Sierra

If you are not on macOS Sierra or you are running Finale v25, please use the Submit a request link above to contact MakeMusic's Customer Success team directly.
