I have the latest Finale but, due to some issues we are all familiar with, kept Finale 2014.5 in my apps.  I want to make v. 25 the default upon opening, but cannot figure out how to do it.  I drag an existing doc to the icon in the dock and that works, but I want to be able to double-click an icon and have v. 25 pop up.  I swear I have tried everything and have not figured it out.  Thanks.

Run Get Info on a file. Select Finale.app to open — you may have to find it in a dropdown menu. Under the dialog "Use this application to open all documents like this one", click on the button Change All. If a dialog box pops up, click OK.

Good call, mike.  Problem solved as I forgot about that avenue.  Thanks.

Yea, one of those Stupid Mac Tricks that everyone forgets. Glad it took care of the problem!

Mike Halloran,  nice tip.  However how do you find get info?  or run get info or whatever?  I hope someone sees this I have also done many things to always open in the new finale, and it always reverts to 2014.5  I just right click and ask it to open to the new one (if I remember.) I would like to skip this step.  I am usually pretty adept at Finale, but not at basic computer skills.  Boo hoo
