Hello :-) Having used Notion and Sibelius for a couple of years,  I'm interested in buying the new version of Finale, and I have one question about activating the program on different computers. I can read from the technical info that you can activate Finale on two operative systems, and that activation should be accomplished within 30 days after the purchase. Can I activate Finale 25 on a laptop using Win7 tomorrow, and then on a  laptop I'll buy, let's say, a year from now using Win 10 (or the next version)? Best regards, Egil

I believe you can postpone the second activation. Still, you might want to use the "Submit a request" link above to check directly with MM Support.

This has always worked as long as MM has used a license server. I've been a customer so long that I no longer remember when that happened. 

 

I recently activated a second Mac with my 2014.5 license with no problem without deactivating my main machine.

Hi Egil,

 

Both J Adrain and Mike are on the right track.

 

Your authorizations do not have a time limit on them, but you do need to authorize in order to save and print after your 30 days have run out. Your ability to authorize computers is not time-limited. You are also correct in your understanding that you can authorize on up to two computers at a time. If you know that you are going to upgrade the OS of, reformat, or replace a computer, you can deauthorize the Finale on that computer by choosing Help > Deauthorize Finale; this will free up that authorization for use later.
