I'm using Finale 2012, wizard setup with the Big Band template.  Section F , 12 measures long, has a simple repeat.  There are notes in the first measure, so I expect an 11 measure multimeasure rest.  Instead, on the Alto 1 and Alto 2 parts, I get a 10 multimeasure rest and a single measure with rests after it.  I have used Edit-Clear All Items which made no difference.  Is there a sfix?

There can be several culprits that may break a multimeasure rest:

1) In the Measure Attributes there is the option “Break a Multimeasure Rest”.

2) An expression can be set to “Break Multimeasure Rests”.

3) Also, an applied staff style (e. g. Slash Notation) can prevent a multimeasure rest, even if the measure contains no music.

Thank you.  I solved the problem by breaking the multimeasure rest, then creating a new one to cover the 11 measures.  But then I had to to adjust measure length to make it look right.  It's a pain, but at least it worked.
