Hi,

I am planning to buy Finale Software for the first time, and I don't know if I must buy full Version 25 or simply Print Music (2014)

My needs will be to write for about 20-25 different parts, instrumental and (or) vocal.

Could you let me know what is the best choice for my needs?

Also, I plan to work on an IBM Think Pad T30 Series;

Specs read like this: P4-M-256 MB RAM-20GB HDD

It is suggested on your website to operate the Finale 25 on Windows 7/8/10, and Windows Vista 7/8/10 for the Print Music software.

I am not familiar with these operating specs, so would you think that my Think Pad would be powerful enough?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Richard Lavallée

It depends on your Think Pad (mine is 12 years old).

Finale 25 requires a 64bit Windows operating system. PrintMusic 2014 will work on 32bit or 64bit WinOS. Other than that, best to go here and look at the differences:

PrintMusic has a maximum of 24 staves. I think that Finale is your best bet if your machine can run it. I do not know if MakeMusic will still sell Finale 2014.5 (same OS requirements as PrintMusic 2014) — you would only want it if your system is too old. To answer that question, you would go to Submit a Request at the top of the page and ask them directly.
