I'm using Finale version 25 on Windows 10

Let's take the chord E7 for example.  There are multiple ways to play E7.  Is there a "quick" way to specify to Finale which E7 you would like it to play during playback?

Thanks ... Mike

No “quick way”, I think.

You can customize the playback of chord symbols, but it is time consuming.

If you in, the same document, need E7 in several different voicings, then you need multiple copies of the chord suffix 7.

I am not sure I understand the problem.

If you are “in a hurry”, why not just accept Finale’s playback of chord symbols, and “leave it at that”?

If, On The Other Hand, you have plenty of time to customize playback, consider disabling Finale’s playback of chord symbols, and add playback chords (with good voicing) in a hidden layer.

IIRC you would need to create your own (hidden) playback staff to voice the chords the way you want them (by selecting/notating the actual notes played) and then mute the chord symbols on the track where they appear.

You would also need to edit any fretboards used if you wished to indicate voicings there. You have probably gathered by now that there is no simple way to do what you are asking.

Yikes ... ok that sounds like a low ROI.  Thanks for the explanations.

Do it quick or do it right.
