I have a few spots where I need to change instrument (violin intro to soprano, etc.) When I do this mid-piece, it seems to work OK. But I have a problem if a piece [i]starts[/i] with the intro. It won't go back to the primary voice. I finally caught that if you select a single measure, it will assign that instrument to the entire staff. But I tried it with one measure plus one beat, and it still took over.

I worked around it by using layers, so, no problem. But I would still like to know if I'm doing something wrong, and if so, what?
