Are they both Finale files? Open them both, and adjust window sizes so you can see them both.

When you go to Edit menu > Clear Selected Items…, first select NONE, and then check the box for MIDI Data:Tempo Changes

Is this from the start, or mid-score tempo changes? Have you tried shutting down and rebooting the computer?

My first suggestion would be that you write the song out three times. Having 6 lyric lines (3 of which are solely for pronunciation) is just asking for trouble.

Can you post a score where this happens? You can’t post a Finale file, but you can save it to Dropbox, and post a link.

I’m 76, and I think MikeH has seniority over me. I tried Dorico, and flailed around for about a week. MuseScore was much easier to learn, and I’m very happy with it. But if Finale and Mac OS are ...

MikeH, have you considered MuseScore Studio? The more I use it, the better I like it. Granted, your needs are probably way beyond mine, but it might be worth a look.

Whitney, I fear you are somewhat late to the party. Finale is dead and gone, and no amount of hope will bring it back. Use it while you can, but don't look for any further development.
