Try exporting your template as XML, and then re-import it. I've found that this will often clear corruption. If that doesn't work, you may have to rebuild your template.

Adding the slur manually: Switch to the smart shapes (slur) tool Double-click and hold the mouse on the first note, drag to the right as far as you need to go.

I don’t recall that font being included with Finale. Anyway, a quick Google for *Poor Richard font* returned a page of hits. After you install the font on your computer, it will be available to use...
