Finale 25.3, Os 10.11.6

when I try to edit text the enclosed area does not correspond to the text . The top line also does not appear in the general text edit box. It is possible to "select all" and all of the original text does go to the clipboard, but has to be edited on another text program. How can I get the text box to actually appear as an enclosure around the actual text?

Try this:

 

When you are in the Text Tool, and have not selected anything, there is a handle on every text block.

Drag-select the handle on the text block you need to edit.

Text menu > Edit Text…

You get to the window Edit Text where you can edit all the text.

Thanks Peter,  someone suggested using Text Edit, a simple word processor that coms with Macs.  It works beautifully, no more struggling with proprietary text block creator in Finale.  Simply copy & paste from Text Edit to text block.
