On Finale 2014 (and earlier versions) Windows 10, I have never been able to write a complete bar of triplets, that is 12 eight notes in the space of 8 eighths. The last note will not enter. This also happens when the triplet is the last entry in the bar. I have been able to work around this by writing the entering partial rests (not the total for the bar) then entering the triplet. I then go back to complete the earlier notes in the bar and it seems to work. But when there is a complete bar of triplets there is no way around this. How do others do it?

We need more info from you.

There are several ways to create tuplets in Finale (Speedy Entry Tool, Simple Entry Tool, Tuplet Tool).

Please specify the steps you've already taken, so that we can rule out things.

A shot in the dark:

Have you tried de-selecting “Check for Extra Notes”?

I've used simple entry with tuplet tool: enter a quaver and click on it with tuplet tool. I haven't used "check for extra notes". I'll try that and reply
